Eugene L. Roberts Jr. Prize (Undergraduate/Prize)

Purpose: To educate journalists so that they can communicate effectively. Focus: Journalism. Qualif.: Applicants must be undergraduate students interested in print journalism who propose the best idea for a Gene Roberts-type story; applicants must be returning to the School for at least one semester, when he or she will research and write the story in JOMC 296. The course is “Independent Study” supervised by a faculty member for three credits. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the academic performance, and financial need.

Jim and Pat Thacker Sports Communication Internships (Undergraduate/Internship)

Purpose: To educate journalists; to pay expenses for a student who has secured a summer internship in sports communication. Focus: Communication.
