Opera Foundation Scholarships (Professional Development/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide opportunity to American singers to work and study at Deutsche Oper Berlin and Teatro Regio Torino. Focus: Music, Opera. Qualif.: Scholarship competition is open to American citizens and permanent residents between the ages of 18 and 30 who are beginning their professional careers. Selected candidates will be invited to participate in auditions at a location to be announced by the Foundation. Transportation to and from New York is at the candidate's own expense. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.
Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants may download or request an application online. Applicants can also request an application directly by contacting the Foundation. Applications must be accompanied by all of the following requirements: a photocopy of birth certificate, Green Card or Passport; two letters of recommendation from a music professional (manager, teacher, coach) dated no later than the deadline; a recent photograph; an application processing fee of $40.00 (non-refundable) paid by certified bank check or money order, payable to The Opera Foundation, Inc.
