Davis Wright Tremaine 1L Diversity Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for qualified students intending to pursue their law degree. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Applicants must be first-year law students; must have a record of academic achievement in both undergraduate school and the first year of law school; must demonstrate promise for a successful career in law; must be committed to civic involvement that promotes diversity; be willing to continue that commitment upon entering the legal profession; and must commit to become a Summer Associate in DWT’s Seattle Office between the student’s first and second years of law school. Criteria: Applicants will be selected based on their academic performance and commitment to a successful career in law.

Funds Avail.: $7,500 for the student’s second year tuition and expenses. To Apply: Applicants must submit a current resume; a complete undergraduate transcript; a grade from the first semester of law school; a short, personal essay indicating the applicant’s eligibility for and interest in the scholarship, and a legal writing sample; and two or three references (one of whom should be a person qualified to comment on the applicant’s law school work).
