State and locally supported, 2-year, coed. Awards certificates, diplomas, transfer associate, and terminal associate degrees. Founded 1883. Setting: 100-acre small town campus with easy access to Houston. Endowment: $29.8 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $1692 per student. Population 10,900. Brenham is a suburban community enjoying temperate climate. The city has libraries, and churches of various denominations. Railroad, bus lines, and major highways serve the area. Part-time employment is available for students. There are motels and apartment houses available for student housing. Brenham has hospitals, and civic and fraternal organizations are active within the area. Local recreation includes theaters, hunting, fishing, golf, and sports.
