Description:

State-supported, university, coed. Awards associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees and post-master's certificates. Founded 1918. Setting: 955-acre suburban campus with easy access to Indianapolis. Research spending 2003-04: $4.7 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $5473 per student. Total enrollment: 20,544. Faculty: 1,169 (903 full-time, 266 part-time). Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 17:1. 10,375 applied, 76% were admitted. 18% from top 10% of their high school class, 42% from top quarter, 80% from top half. 11 National Merit Scholars, 23 valedictorians. Community Environment:

Muncie is the county seat and the largest city in east-central Indiana. It is located on the White River, 66 miles northeast of Indianapolis. All forms of commercial transportation are available.
