Affirmative Action Mini Grant and Student Scholarships (All/Grant)

Purpose: To promote the involvement of all minority groups in the academy. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Applicants must be members of a group who have experienced historical discrimination (i.e., African American, Asian American, Native American, persons of Hispanic descent); enrolled in criminal justice, criminology or related programs; available for undergraduates, masters, and doctoral students. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the AACJS Affirmative Action Committee panel's review of application materials.

Funds Avail.: $550. Number Awarded: 2. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed manuscript (not more than 30 pages in length) examining criminal justice/criminological issue; a 10 pages, double spaced, typed proposals discussing: (a) the nature of the research topic, (b) why the research is important, and where relevant, (c) the methods used, (d) the findings of the research, and (e) the theoretical, methodological, and/or policy implications of the results.
