positive display
positive display A display where the image consists of dark symbols on a light background (usually white). Positive displays are claimed by some authorities to cause less eyestrain. With the advent of affordable colour displays with high refresh rates, the term is rarely used today since the display presentation is largely under the user's control. See also paper white display, negative display.
