See index for CA sketch: Born April 13, 1932, in Oak Park, IL; died of cancer, June 8, 2007, in New Fairfield, CT. Actress, producer, television and radio writer, playwright, and author. After graduating from the Catholic University of America, Glynn began her career as an actress, touring Europe and the United States in the 1950s. She became a television and radio producer of programs created by the Christophers, a nonprofit organization founded in 1945 by a Roman Catholic priest to encourage faith-based activities. She was the host of the organization's syndicated series Christopher Closeup, which was first broadcast in 1952. Later Glynn began writing scripts for television soap operas such as As the World Turns, General Hospital, The Guiding Light, One Life to Live, Port Charles, and Search for Tomorrow, often under the name Jeannie Glynn. This work earned the writer awards from the Writers Guild of America and Soap Opera Digest, along with several Emmy Award nominations from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Glynn also wrote books for Christian readers, including My Name Is Mary, If I Were an Angel, Diary of a New Mother, and Answer Me, Answer Me. Her credits as a playwright include Santa's Spectacles and Sunshine for the Queen.
