Vronsky, Vitya
Vronsky, Vitya, Russian-born American pianist; b. Evpatoria, Crimea, Aug. 22,1909; d. Cleveland, June 28, 1992. She received training at the Kiev Cons., from Petri and Schnabel in Berlin, and from Cortot in Paris. From 1930 she performed in Europe. In 1933 she married Victor Babin, with whom she regularly performed in a piano duo. In 1937 they emigrated to the U.S. and established themselves as the leading piano duo of the day. From 1945 their tours took them to principal music centers of the world. Their repertoire extended from Bach to Babin.
