Snetzler (Schnetzler), Johann
Snetzler (Schnetzler), Johann, Swiss organ builder; b. Schaffhausen, April 6, 1710; d. there, Sept. 28, 1785. He was apprenticed to the Passau organ builder Egedacher, with whom he worked on the Passau Cathedral organ (1731–33). After serving as assistant to Müller in Haarlem, he went to England and settled in London about 1746 as an organ builder; constructed the organ for St. Margaret’s, King’s Lynn (1753–54). He retired about 1781 and returned to his homeland.
