Radesca di Foggia, Enrico
Radesca di Foggia, Enrico , Italian organist and composer; b. Foggia, date unknown; d. Turin, 1625. He was organist at Turin Cathedral from about 1597 until he became choirmaster there in 1615. From 1605 he was also in the service of Don Amadeo, son of the Duke of Savoy, and later became choirmaster at his court chapel about 1615. He composed both sacred and secular vocal music. He was one of the earliest composers of sacred music for small vocal ensemble and basso continuo (2 vols., Milan, 1604, 1607), but his secular vocal music is more expansive (7 vols., 1599–1617).
