OrozCO, Rafael

OrozCO, Rafael, Spanish pianist; b. Córdoba, Jan. 24, 1946; d. Rome, April 24, 1996. He studied at the Córdoba Cons., at the Madrid Cons. (1960–64), and with Alexis Weissenberg at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. In 1966 he won first prize in the Leeds Competition, and thereafter toured extensively. Orozco was best known for his interpretations of the Romantic repertoire.
