Klein, Elisabeth
Klein, Elisabeth, Hungarian-born Danish pianist; b. Trencin, July 23, 1911. She studied at the Budapest Academy of Music (graduated, 1934), then had private lessons with Bartók. She settled in Denmark, becoming a naturalized Danish citizen. She made her debut in Copenhagen (1946). She toured extensively and was also active as a teacher. Klein championed the music of Bartόk and contemporary Scandinavian composers.
