García, Eugénie

García, Eugénie, French soprano and teacher; b. Paris, 1815; d. there, Aug. 12, 1880. She was a pupil of Manuel (Patricio Rodriguez) Garcia, who became her husband. After singing in Italy, she appeared at the Paris Opera-Comique (1840) and in London (1842). Upon separating from her husband, she settled in Paris to teach voice.
