Chief cond. Norwegian State Opera 1958–60, Oslo PO 1962–9. Had close assoc. with Nat. Youth. Orch. of GB, taking it on tour to Ger., Russ., and Scandinavia, 1961. Cond. first complete recording of Götterdämmerung, with Flagstad and Svanholm, 1956.
