Filtz, (Johann) Anton
Filtz, (Johann) Anton, German cellist and composer; b. Eichstatt (baptized), Sept. 22, 1733; d. Mannheim (buried), March 14, 1760. He studied with J. Stamitz in Mannhein. In 1754 he became 2nd cellist in the orch. of the Palatine court. His extensive output included about 60 syms., concertos for various instruments, and a large body of chamber music.
