Buchbinder, Rudolf
Buchbinder, Rudolf, Austrian pianist; b. Leitmeritz, Dec. 1, 1946. He studied with Bruno Seidlhofer at the Vienna Academy of Music; in 1965 he made a tour of North and South America; in 1966 he won a special prize awarded at the Van Cliburn Competition; then made a tour with the Vienna Phil., and also appeared as a soloist in Paris, Milan, Madrid, and London. In 1975 he made a tour of Japan and the U.S. with the Vienna Sym. Orch.; in addition, he taught piano at the Basel Academy of Music. He subsequently toured extensively, appearing as a soloist with leading orchs and as a recitalist.
