Avondano, Pedro Antonio, Portuguese composer of Italian descent; b. Lisbon (baptized) April 16, 1714; d. there, 1782. He became a court violinist in Lisbon in 1763. He wrote the opera buffa, II mondo della luna (Lisbon, Carnival 1765), 2 syms., 3 cello concertos, and various sacred works.
