Stolen Childhoods ★★ 2005

Presents footage shot over seven years in eight different countries of the deplorable conditions and horrific practices under which youths are forced to work. Castigates governments for not enforcing child labor laws, blames the rising frenzy for cheap consumer goods in the Western markets, and praises programs that rehabilitate children and save them from servitude. Well-intentioned premise feels unfocused, losing much of its punch. 83m/C USD: Len Morris; W: Georgia Morris; C: U. Roberto Romano; M: Miriam Cutler.
