A Slight Case of Murder ★★ ½ 1938

Robinson spoofs his own tough-guy image in this screwy comedy. Remy (Robinson) and his gang made a fortune as bootleggers selling lousy beer. Now that Prohibition is over, Remy is nearly bankrupt trying to sell the same rotgut and needs cash fast. To top off the bad news, daughter Mary (Bryan) get engaged to state trooper Dick (Parker). The family heads to their country home so Remy can think but he finds four dead gangsters and loot from a heist littering up the place while shooter Innocence (Downing) is lurking around. Oh, and company is coming. 85m/B DVD . Edward G.
