Cooper Professor of English Emeritus, 1993-. Has held positions as editorial consultant to the Indiana Magazine of History and the Eugene O'Neill On-line Journal; Christian Theological Seminary, member of board of directors of Repertory Theatre, 1975-83. Butler University Community Service Award, 2001.
