SCHOFFMAN, Nachum. Israeli (born United States), b. 1930. Genres: Literary criticism and history, Music. Career: Piano soloist and accompanist, 1955-71; Seminar Hakibbutzim, Oranim, Israel, teacher at School for Music Teachers, 1965-71; Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beersheba, Israel, senior lecturer in music, 1980-2000. Founding member of Kibbutz Kisufim, 1951. Teacher at Rubin Academy of Music, 1973-76, and at Hebrew University, 1973-78. Lecturer and performer for Israel Radio. Publications: From Chords to Simultaneities: Chordal Indeterminacy and the Failure of Serialism, 1990; There Is No Truer Truth: The Musical Aspect of Browning's Poetry, 1991.
