Goodbye, Dragon Inn
Goodbye, Dragon Inn ★★ Bu san 2003
Long on atmosphere and short on plot, this slow-moving drama is centered around a decaying movie palace in Taiwan that appears to have become a gay cruising spot. A Japanese tourist wanders in to get in out of the rain (or maybe for other reasons), the crippled ticket girl decides to finally act on her crush on the film projectionist, and two elderly patrons weep as they watch the feature, King Hu's 1966 epic, “Dragon Inn.” Melancholy rules. Chinese with subtitles. 81m/C VHS, DVD . Kangsheng Lee, Tien Miao, Kiyonobu Mitzmura, Shianchyi Chen, Shih Chun; D: Mingliang Tsai; W: Mingliang Tsai; C: Liao Pen-yung.
