Cinema Paradiso ★★★ Nuovo Cinema Paradiso 1988

Memoir of a boy's life working at a movie theatre in smalltown Italy after WWII. Film aspires to both majestic sweep and stirring poignancy, but only occasionally hits its target. The version shown in America is approximately a halfhour shorter than the original Italian form. 123m/C VHS, DVD . IT Philippe Noiret, Jacques Perrin, Salvatore Cascio, Marco Leonardi, Agnes Nano, Leopoldo Trieste; D: Giuseppe Tornatore; W: Giuseppe Tornatore; C: Blasco Giurato; M: Ennio Morricone.
