Boiling Point ★★ 3x Jugatsu 1990
Masaki (Ono) is a young, inarticulate, misfit, loser gas-station attendent who even lets down his local baseball team when he tries to play ball. Then he makes the mistake of slugging a yakuza member, so he heads to Okinawa to buy a gun to defend himself and meets up with the ultimate Mr. Cool—Uehara (Kitano). Uehara is such a bad ass even the yakuza don't want anything to do with him, so who better than the master to teach Masaki how to survive. The Japanese title refers to a baseball score, which somehow seems more apt. Japanese with subtitles. 98m/C VHS, DVD . JP Takeshi “Beat” Kitano, Masahiko Ono, Hisashi Igawa; D: Takeshi “Beat” Kitano; C: Kat-sumi Yanagishima.
