O'Hagan, Mary (1823–1876)
Religious leader who founded the Convent of Poor Clares, Kenmare, Ireland. Born in Belfast, Ireland, in 1823; died in Kenmare, Ireland, in 1876.
Born in 1823 in Belfast, Ireland, and devoting her life to the Sisters of Poor Clares, Mary O'Hagan entered the convent in Newry in 1844, when she was 21, becoming abbess there in 1853. In 1861, she established another convent of Poor Clares in Kenmare, where she also served as abbess until her death in 1876.
