Born in Paris in 1905, Genia Nemenoff studied at the Paris Conservatoire with Isidor Philipp. After a successful Paris debut and tours throughout Europe, she married pianist Pierre Luboshutz, and together they established a duo piano team. Their annual concert tours enabled audiences throughout the U.S. and Canada to become acquainted with the full range of the duo-piano literature. Nemenoff and her husband also taught; from 1962 to 1968, they served as joint heads of the piano department at Michigan State University.
