Ben Nevis Highest peak in the British Isles, Highlands region, w central Scotland. Ben Nevis is in the central Grampian Mountain range (overlooking Glen Nevis), near Fort William. It rises to 1343m (4406ft).

Ben Nevis (nē´vĬs, nĕv´Ĭs), peak, 4,406 ft (1,343 m) high, Highland, W Scotland, overlooking Glen Nevis; highest peak of Great Britain. Ruins of an observatory are on the summit, from which there is an impressive view, especially on the northeastern side with its precipice of more than 1,450 ft (442 m).
