John Bayliss Broadcast Foundation Internship Programs (Undergraduate/Internship)
Purpose: To enhance students' education at Bayliss Schools across the nation. To provide practical skills that will prepare them for a rewarding future. Focus: Broadcasting. Qualif.: Applicants must be studying for a career in the radio industry and have taken basic journalism courses as well as specialized courses in the radio communication fields. Applicants must have previous radio-related experience. Applicants must be enrolled in a degree program and entering their junior or senior year in college; must have a GPA of 3.0 or better; must be at least 18 years of age. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need and academic record.
Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a resume and complete the application form.
John Bayliss Broadcast Foundation Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To support broadcasting students. Focus: Broadcasting. Qualif.: Applicants must be entering thier junior or senior year at an institution in the United States. Applicants must be preparing for a career in the radio industry, preferably commercial radio. Applicants must maintain a 3.0 GPA or better. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need, merit, history of radio-related activities, and based the demonstrated degree of integrity and a personal sense of responsibility.
Funds Avail.: $5,000. Number Awarded: 15. To Apply: Applicants must provide a typewritten resume; an official transcript; three letters of recommendation written by people other than relatives. Applicant must submit a two-page typewritten essay describing his/her broadcasting goals as they relate to radio and the ways in which they hope to achieve their goals. Deadline: March.
