Schwemmer, Heinrich
Schwemmer, Heinrich, German composer and teacher; b. Gumpertshausen bei Hallburg, March 28, 1621; d. Nuremberg (buried), May 31, 1696. He settled in Nuremberg in 1641. After studies with Kindermann, he taught school (from 1650) and served as Director cori musici (from c. 1656),sharing the latter position with Paul Hainlein. He composed a number of cantatas and choral concertos.
