Monn (originally, Mann), Johann Christoph
Monn (originally, Mann), Johann Christoph, Austrian pianist, teacher, and composer, brother of Matthias Georg Monn ; b. 1726; d. Vienna, June 24, 1782. He served Count Kinsky as a music teacher in Prague (1750), and later settled in Vienna as a keyboard teacher. He wrote 6 syms., 3 piano concertos (also attributed to his brother), 10 divertimentos a 3 and a divertimento for Violin and Bass, and various keyboard works, including 8 sonatas, 20 minuets and trios, and a ballo.
