Egüés, Manuel de
Egüées, Manuel de, Spanish composer; b. San Martin del Rio, June 3, 1657; d. Burgos, April 11, 1729. After serving as choirmaster at Lerida Cathedral, he held that title in Burgos (1685–91) and Saragossa (1691–92) before returning to Burgos. He was one of the principal Spanish composers of his era, producing 181 villancicos, 14 Salves en romance, eight motets, and seven Psalms.
