Janyns, Robert
Janyns, Robert (fl. 1438–64). English mason. He was Warden of the Masons during the building of All Souls College, Oxford (1438–43). He became master-mason during the building of the bell-tower at Merton College, Oxford (1448–51), before becoming Warden of the Masons at Eton College. He was also involved in the building of the Divinity Schools, Oxford (1452–3). He made and fixed the carving above the gateway of Merton College (1463–4).
