Samolus
Samolus (family Primulaceae) A genus of annual or perennial herbs which have erect or trailing stems, and glabrous, radical, or alternate leaves. The flowers are bisexual and held in terminal racemes. The sepals are fused into a 5-lobed, bell-shaped calyx, and the corolla is also fused into a short but broad tube. There are 5 stamens, and the ovary and fruit are half-inferior, the fruit being a valvate capsule. There are 15 species, cosmopolitan in distribution.
