Lajovic, Anton
Lajovic, Anton, Slovenian composer and jurist; b. Vace, Dec. 19, 1878; d. Ljubljana, Aug. 28, 1960. He studied at the Ljubljana Gasbena Music School before taking a course in composition with Fuchs at the Vienna Cons. (1897–1902); concurrently studied law at the Univ. of Vienna. In subsequent years, Lajovic served as a judge in Slovenia and Coratia while pursuing a second career as a composer. He was a prominent figure in Slovenian music circles. Among his works were a number of orch. scores, choral pieces, and songs.
