Planet-B (Nozomi) A Japanese ISAS mission to orbit Mars for one year, launched in 1998. Its purpose is to study the martian atmosphere and the effect of the solar wind on the martian ionosphere, while returning images of the martian surface and also of Phobos and Deimos.
