Lefanu, Elizabeth (1758–1837)
English writer. Name variations: Le Fanu. Born in 1758; died in 1837; daughter of Frances Sheridan (1724–1766, novelist and dramatist) and Thomas Sheridan (a well-known actor-manager); sister of Richard Brinsley Sheridan (1751–1816) and Alicia Lefanu (1753–1817); married Henry Lefanu (brother of Joseph and Philip Lefanu); children: Alicia Lefanu (c. 1795–c. 1826).
