Specializing in medieval Arthurian texts, wrote The Legends of the Wagner Drama (1896), The Legend of Sir Gawain (1897), King Arthur and His Knights (1899), Morien (1901), Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (1905), The Legend of Sir Perceval (1906), The Quest for the Holy Grail (1913), and From Ritual to Romance (1920), among others.
