Japanese skier. Born June 12, 1976, in Japan.
Won a gold medal in freestyle skiing at Nagano Olympics (1998), the 1st Japanese woman to win an Olympic gold medal in the Winter Games; won a bronze medal in freestyle skiing at Salt Lake City Olympics (2002).
