Dale, Daphne (1931–1982)
English ballet dancer. Born 1931 in Nairobi, Kenya; died July 9, 1982, in New Orleans, Louisiana; after several years of local training, moved to London to study dance with Grace Cone and Olive Ripman.
Appeared 1 season with London Festival Ballet; moved to Rio de Janeiro, where she danced in productions of Swan Lake, Les Sylphides, Prince Igor, and others; performed in Gene Kelly's film Invitation to the Dance (1954); danced with Grand Ballet du Marquis de Cuevas in Europe; taught at school of Geneva Opera Ballet in Switzerland.
