English murderer. Born c. 1879 in England.
Twice stabbed her lover, Arthur Reginald Baker, on the street in front of witnesses (Nov 10, 1902), but had public sympathy on her side during trial (Dec); was found guilty of murder, though jury strongly recommended mercy; after a 15,000-name petition was submitted from public for a reprieve, had sentence commuted to life, then reduced to 10 years.
