Anderson, Doris (1921–)
Canadian journalist, novelist, and editor. Born Doris Hilda McCubbin, Nov 10, 1921, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; dau. of Thomas and Rebecca (Laycock) McCubbin; educated at University of Alberta; m. David Anderson (lawyer), May 24, 1957 (div. 1972); children: Peter, Stephen, and Mitchell.
Began publishing in magazines at 16; was a journalist for Star Weekly; joined the staff of Chatelaine (1951) and became the magazine's editor (1958), a position she would hold for 18 years; published 1st novel, Two Women (1978), followed by Rough Layout (1981); served as president of the Canadian Advisory Council on the Status of Women and wrote The Unfinished Revolution.
