Born September 8, 1864, in Kemptville, Ontario, Canada; immigrated to United States, 1891; died January 30, 1930, in Chicago, IL; son of Henry and Maria S. Anderson; married Janet Glass, 1889. Education: Attended Trinity College School in Port Huron, Ontario, Canada.

CAREER:

Ordained deacon, Church of England in Canada, 1887, ordained priest, 1888; pastor of Anglican church in Beachburg, Canada until 1891; transferred to Episcopal Church, 1891; Grace Episcopal Church, Chicago, IL, pastor, c.1891-1900; bishop of Diocese of Chicago, 1900-29; named presiding bishop of Episcopal Church, 1929.
