Kīrtan
Kīrtan (Hindī, Pañjābī, ‘devotional singing’, from kīrat = ‘praise’). Hindu and Sikh corporate hymn-singing, often to instrumental accompaniment. It is the second stage of bhakti according to Bhāgavata Purāṇa.
