Keizan Jōkin (1268–1325). Sōtō Zen master, the fourth patriarch (soshigata) of the Sōtōshu. He founded Sōji-ji, one of the two most important Sōtō monasteries (the other being Eihei-ji), and after Dōgen is regarded as one of the most important figures of the school. Among his writings, Denkō-roku (a collection of biographies and teachings) has had the most extensive influence—see KEIZAN OSHO.
