Gurdās Bhallā, Bhāī
Gurdās Bhallā, Bhāī, (c.1551–1637). Sikh writer contemporary with four Gurūs. Bhāī Gurdās was the son of Gurū Amar Dās' younger brother, and died unmarried. Although of varied literary quality, his compositions are highly regarded as the ‘key to the Ādi Granth’. They are not included in this, but, with the Dasam Granth and the poetry of Nand Lāl ‘Goyā’, are approved for recitation in gurdwārās.
