Gabrieli Two Italian composers, uncle and nephew. Andrea Gabrieli (c.1533–86) was organist at St Mark's, Venice. He wrote vocal and organ music, developing the antiphonal use of several choirs. His nephew, Giovanni Gabrieli (c.1553–1612), succeeded him as organist at St Mark's. He developed the new concerto style and was a major influence on the early Baroque.
