Purpose: To provide financial assistance to children and dependents of PSAC members. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be PSAC members or their children who are returning to university, college or a recognized institute of higher learning; must have a good standing in PSAC as of May 31 of the current year. Criteria: Scholarships are awarded based on the impact of the 800-word essay, scholastic achievement, and community and union involvement as reviewed by the PSAC scholarship committee.
Funds Avail.: $2,000. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicant must submit an 800-word essay on the topic chosen by the PSAC scholarship committee and a transcript of the most current academic standing. Applicant must also prepare proof of registration with the name of the university, college or institute of higher learning. Application forms are available from the website and must be completed and emailed, mailed or faxed to: Public Service Alliance of Canada, 233 Gilmour St., Ste. 904, Ottawa, ON K2P OP1. Deadline: July 16.
