Fall Fellowships in Korean Studies (Professional Development/Fellowship)

Purpose: To provide a general overview of Korea's past and present by covering all the expenses of the participants including round-trip international airfare, accommodations and meals. Focus: Korean studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be an American educator who is professionally engaged as a textbook writer and editor or an East Asia specialist in higher education who would like to include Korea in his/her teaching, research or writing. Criteria: Priority is given to applicants who are planning to author textbooks on world

history or Asian history and are intending to contribute articles to reference works and who will be editors of such works.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicant must submit a completed application packet including the application form and supporting documentation. Deadline: May 5.

Korean Language Study Awards (Graduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Korean language study at a university in Korea. Focus: Korean studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, graduate students, enrolled in degree programs, recent college graduates or young professionals with a clearly defined interest in Korea. Criteria: Recipient will be selected based on criteria designed by the Scholarship Committee.

Funds Avail.: No amount mentioned. To Apply: Applicant must submit application form; resume; official college transcripts; and two letters of reference. Deadline: April 1.
