Prachatitz, Hans von
Prachatitz, Hans von (fl. C15). Architect who completed the south tower and handsome spire (called ‘Steffl’) of the Stephansdom (St Stephen's Cathedral), Vienna (1349–1433), one of the most perfect of German Gothic steeples. He may also have designed the stone altar-canopy in the north aisle (c.1437).
